Altered Books 101

Saturday, October 15
3:00-5:00, $26

If you've ever been intrigued by the idea of creating an altered book, but didn't know where to start - this class is for you!

You don't need to find a book - all you need to find is yourself in class, and we'll go from there!

An altered book is an existing book that has been changed or altered. . . glued, painted, collaged, rubber stamped, cut, torn, burned or added to it in some way.

It's an expression of one’s self, a piece of art, an experiment or a conversation piece.

In this class, you'll learn the basics of getting started with altered books - how to select a book, getting past the fear of "wrecking" a book - and some basic techniques to get you started.

You will be provided with a book to work with in class, but if you have one you'd like to bring, please feel free!

Taught by Susan Peterson - Susan has been creating altered books for almost 20 years!
